Lincad joins 5% Club to inspire and provide opportunities for apprentices, graduates and trainees

5% Club

Lincad has joined the 5% Club – an employer-led charity that works to inspire, educate and retain young people into ‘earn and learn’ sponsored student placements, apprenticeships and graduate schemes. The company will work to provide recruitment and employment opportunities for young people interested in manufacturing and engineering, as well as mentor and support those coming through its ranks.

Following a rigorous employer audit accreditation process, Lincad was awarded Silver membership by the 5% Club. This sought-after accolade reflects Lincad’s position as a leading employer of apprentices, degree placement students and graduates, and benchmarks its commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

The 5% Club was established in 2013 by Balfour Beatty’s Chief Executive, Leo Quinn. It aims to enhance career prospects for employees and support the UK’s skilled workforces of the future. Members of the 5% Club, which now include Lincad, pledge to place 5% of their UK workforce in eligible ‘earn and learn’ job roles. More than 700 organisations have committed to this initiative, collectively employing more than 1.6 million people. Around 70,000 of these are apprentices, 7,000 are sponsored students and 16,000 are participates in specialist graduate programmes.

Janet Rowe, joint Managing Director at Lincad says: “We are proud to be part of this worthwhile initiative and to publicly declare our commitment to supporting young and entry-level employees as part of our 5% Club membership. By investing in these ‘earn and learn’ placements, we can ensure that Lincad can retain access to intelligent, motivated young people who are keen to make their mark and demonstrate excellence in our challenging and fast-paced industry.”
