Lincad, the Surrey-based specialist battery manufacturer, is sponsoring Armed Forces Day in Aldershot which is being held today, Saturday, 29th June.
Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for people to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets. Events are taking place across the country and in Aldershot, the home of the British army, festivities are opening in Princes Gardens at 11am in anticipation of an army parade.
Families can enjoy a variety of live music on the bandstand, food and drink stalls, free face painting and bouncy castles. The parade will pass Princes Hall at 12 noon, continue around the town centre, and then return for a traditional Drum Ceremony with support from Hart Male Voice Choir.
Lincad will be making its own particular contribution by presenting a celebration cake in the shape of one of the Landing Craft which were made so famous on D-Day, 1944, which was recently commemorated.
With over 30 years’ experience in the design, manufacture and supply of bespoke batteries, chargers and power management systems, Lincad is at the forefront of lithium-ion technology and has been an important supplier to the UK Ministry of Defence for over 30 years.
