Lincad receives a ‘Supplier Performance Excellence Award’ from Leonardo

We are pleased to announce that Lincad has been awarded a ‘Supplier Performance Excellence Award’ by Leonardo, ‘in recognition of our outstanding business continuity planning and customer support following the 2024 Ash Vale fire’.
As one of Leonardo’s key suppliers, Lincad provides products across various Leonardo programmes: T163 laser, LINAPS and the new Guardian Shield. With robust business continuity plans, Lincad was able to ensure that delays were kept to a minimum, and product supply brought back online as soon as practicable under challenging circumstances. Of particular significance was the contribution to the T163 laser programme, where component obsolescence necessitated the rapid development of two new products. The commitment shown by Lincad engineering and production staff to fulfil Leonardo’s requirements was exceptional, and this has been duly recognised.
Peter Slade, Joint Managing Director, visited Leonardo in Edinburgh last week, with Operations Director, Peter Copplestone, Senior Systems Engineer, Mike Hendey, and Production Manager, Andy Sievewright, to meet with key Leonardo personnel and to accept the award from Leonardo’s Procurement Manager, Chris Hutchinson.
Peter Slade commented, “The last twelve months have demonstrated what can be achieved in times of adversity when people pull together to get a job done. My personal thanks go to all Lincad staff who have contributed to getting the business back on track to support our customers, and we are very grateful to Leonardo for their ongoing support through this difficult period. We are proud to receive this award which will take pride of place in the state-of-the-art Ash Vale facility when we return later in the year.”
