Lincad is attending the 2019 Wearable Technology Show, taking place on 12 and 13 March at the Business Design Centre in London. The UK-based manufacturer is at the forefront of battery technology and design and is currently working on a number of innovative concepts around batteries designed to be used in wearable technology for the defence and security sectors.

Janet Rowe from Lincad says of the event, “Wearable Technology is a fast-growing and exciting area and the show is the biggest event of its kind for emerging technologies. We are looking forward to attending and finding out what’s happening in this exciting sector right now to inform our own R&D plans for wearable technology for the military.”Wearable Technology Expo

Lincad designs and manufactures bespoke batteries, chargers and power management systems for a range of specialist applications. The company’s 30 years of solid, global experience allows it to react quickly to emerging technologies and to take its portfolio of products and ideas to new limits, developing lighter, more energetic and powerful batteries with faster, more flexible charging solutions.

Wearable devices are becoming increasingly important for military personnel, which means that the associated battery technology and design is equally critical. As communication protocols and sensor technology grow more sophisticated, so remote-control systems and network connectivity are also developing and must keep pace with progress in the sector. It is estimated that as many as 350 million wearable devices could now be in use worldwide and the light, resilient technology that has created them is a perfect fit for soldiers engaged in operations.

The Wearable Technology Show comprises an exhibition featuring more than 60 exhibitors from 15 countries. They will be showing some of the latest products in the connected tech sector in a series of launch events, exclusive previews and major product announcements. Around 6,000 visitors are expected to attend the show, which is now in its sixth year.

The popular event also incorporates a full conference programme, where delegates will hear from over 300 globally acclaimed thought leaders and innovators, each offering their own insights into the future of this rapidly emerging sector.
